Forest Witch Commentary:
Searching I'm meeting so many folks who are searching for a better life, meaningful work, happiness, and a sense of inner peace. They tell me they're tired of just getting through the day and want something more. What they have tried is not working; they are frustrated at not knowing how to get out of the rut and start on their true path. It's true that in living your purpose, the world is a brighter place, there is boundless energy, and a looking forward to what the day brings. For so many, they experience the exact opposite: a dull existence, their energy drained, and nothing to look forward to. Why would anyone stay in that state of being? There are many reasons; one of the biggest being an uncertainty of how to move forward, what steps to take, and where to begin. The good news is that it is never too late to begin your search and get on your true path, do the work you were meant to do in this lifetime, and to experience life in a way that brings contentment and joy. There are so many ways to begin, it is a matter of choosing the one you are most comfortable with. Start slowly and get acclimated to opening to the shift that will change your life forever. One thing that prevents people from taking the first step is knowing that their life will never be the same. That's a bit scary and makes all kinds of fears bubble up, like how it will change current relationships, job, and self-image. Given that, test the waters with a journal entry about what your life would look like if you were engaged in your dream vocation. Even if you don't know what that is just yet, dream a little without boundaries and write as if you are living the dream. What does your life look like? Who is there with you? Where do you live? How do you feel? Once you "try on" your new situation, mindset, or vocation, it takes away the unknown and puts you squarely in a state of desire to be living the life you really want. For help in determining your ideal vocation, engage a friend who knows you well to brainstorm about what you're good at or connect with a professional coach to really get on the fast track to getting your life in gear. - ©Diane Wing, 2010

| Arachne's Alchemy: This section of the newsletter is dedicated to transformation. Your questions are always welcome and can be emailed to me at arachne@forestwitch.com to get a direct reply. Finding your true vocation is transformative. I remember a time in my life when I was uncertain of what I was meant to do in this lifetime. The crazy thing was that I really knew where my passions were at a very young age, but was then steered away from them by well-meaning adults who insisted that I would never be able to support myself if I didn't pursue a traditional vocation (physician, attorney, accountant, etc.). Taken off track, I attempted many courses of study and accepted jobs that paid well, but only got me so far in the realm of personal satisfaction. One thing that remained consistent was my love of writing and the occult. It was my deep study of the esoteric arts, occult philosophy, and metaphysics that brought me to understand that it all amounts to coming fully into yourself and understanding what I had determined to be my path before being born into this life. Having finally come full circle and allowing myself to do the work I love, each day is bright and fulfilling. My vocation is my vacation, for I'd rather be doing this work than sitting on a beach someplace. There is a constant stream of ideas and boundless energy to bring them into being. My work helps others to achieve their ultimate dreams and goals, and, truly, there is nothing better than that. I love seeing someone come fully into themselves, especially when they thought it was a dream that could never become reality. If your days don't feel like this, I strongly encourage you to take stock in how you are living your life. Ask yourself if there is a better way, a better direction, a path that is powerfully aligned with your true nature and what you came into this life to become.
